The STEM Scholars Program awards two types of need-based scholarships:

  • Tenure Scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to incoming first-year students who pursue a STEM major. Each Tenure Scholarship carries a monetary award of $3000 per year for up to 4 years (for a maximum of $12,000 per scholarship).
  • Annual Scholarships. These one-year scholarships are awarded to incoming transfer students and current students who pursue a STEM major. Each scholarship provides a one-time award of $3000. Former recipients may re-apply in subsequent years but in competition with other Annual Scholarship applicants.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a STEM Scholarship, the applicant must satisfy all of the following:

All STEM scholarship awards are coordinated with the recipients’ financial aid package, which is managed by the Financial Aid Office. In particular, the scholarship amounts given above represent the maximumamounts that recipients may receive. The actual amount awarded to a student may be lower, depending on the student’s unmet need, after counting grants and other scholarships awarded to the student, as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
